What's up over the Holidays?

Hey all,

Hoping everyone goes into the Christmas season jolly and merry.

I'm looking forward to eating a little, working a little and spending time with some friends and family.

But before I do so, working on a year-ending project at The Weather Network called the Top 10 Weather Stories of 2012.

We will count down the top stories from the past year that made the biggest impact both in Canada and around the World.

It's an exciting project that will ultimately result in a 1-show Nationwide across Canada.

Watch The Weather Network over the next few weeks for details about show times in your area.

Check it out online as well.  We'll have clips from the show and also other notable weather stories that didn't make our Top 10.

Meanwhile, I will update y'all on what's coming up in 2013.  Many more amazing projects and shows are in the works.  Details to follow in the coming months.

So keep coming back and as always, stay tuned!

Weather Myths, wrapped!

Hey everyone!

Quick update about the latest show I wrapped up.  If you're in Canada, you may have already seen it on The Weather Network.

The show, 'Weather Myths, Debunked', explores and explains some of the biggest misconceptions many people have about what to do in the event of a tornado or major storm.  It's a very informative, dynamic piece hosted by the very talented Lyndsay Morrison who takes us through the weather events, misconceptions and what you should actually do to protect yourself from serious injury from a major storm.

In case you missed it, the show will re-air again soon. I will keep you posted on the days and times.

In the meantime, take a look the promo.  Just click this link: Weather Myths, Debunked!

Enjoy and stay tuned!

Day in the Life....

Hey all,
Just over a month ago, I wrote about being in post-production on a Pilot I was working on at The Weather Network. Ironically, it was called 'A Day in the Life of a Pilot'.

After a few weeks of online editing and meticulous fine tuning, stress and agony that comes with any production, I'm happy to report that the feature made its premiere this past weekend exclusively on The Weather Network, enjoyed by a national Canadian audience!

Through the magic of the Internet, I'm able to share the feature with you on my site.

Please click HERE to view.

Enjoy and as always will keep you posted on the latest news as it happens.

Yes, I know. It's been a long while!

Hey everyone, thanks for checking in.  I'm well aware that the last time I posted on my site was February.  Way too long and really unacceptable.

The truth is, It has been a very busy few months as I've been heavily involved in the production of several shows at The Weather Network, including Storm Hunters, Canada's Wildest Winters and Hurricane!

More recently, I wrapped up a one-day shoot involving a show I'm calling "A Day in the Life..." Our first episode is about the day in the life of a Pilot and how weather plays a key role in  preparing for a flight and executing it flawlessly.

The feature Pilot in the episode is Mr. Koko Gillis from WestJet who were gracious enough to allow us exclusive access to their Central Command, flight deck and cabin.

Show times are TBA but if you're in Canada, make sure you stay tuned to The Weather Network and check it out in your area.

Also make sure to stay up-to-date with the latest on my other site, Travel Mammal, especially our Facebook page.

Upload and share your latest travel photos, experiences and tips to other travelers in need of advice ranging from where to go, what to see and where to eat!

Share and compare. It's the only way we all become more knowledgeable and respectful travelers.

Thanks everyone, talk to you soon.

Where's Jim?

Hey everyone, I know I haven't posted in a while but I've been busy with other stuff.  In early January, I became a Producer at The Weather Network and got to work quickly.

My first production, Canada's Wildest Winter Storms, debuted during the last week of January. More recently, I've been overseeing the production of Storm Hunters, a show that features a pair of storm chasers trying to find that famous and this year, very elusive winter. It continues to be a great experience and love working with passionate, creatively like minded professionals in an environment that continues to promote a fresh, energetic direction to how weather is presented.

I'm also working on getting some clips of the shows put online. That way I can post them here too. But first comes the development and completion of the shows themselves.  Without those, there are no shows and there are no clips.

Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted.
